Product Description
This 1961 Fender Jazzmaster is all original with the exception of the nut and one replaced saddle height screw. The neck has been sanded down leaving a luxuriously smooth feel to the vintage C profile. This 1961 Fender Jazzmaster features a 2 piece offset contoured Alder body with a 3 Tone Sunburst finish, a maple bolt on neck with Brazilian slab rosewood fretboard and ivorine "clay" dot inlays. It still houses all of its original electronics, hardware and pre-CBS black back soap bar pickups. The frets are still original and have at one time been leveled. They could stand to be replaced at some point in the future but the guitar still plays wonderfully as it is right now. The tuners are also original. The high E string tuner post seems to be winding out the rest of its days ( pun intended! ) and we will gladly replace the tuners with a set of non invasive Kluson repros at the customers request for a nominal fee. Other features include the Jazzmaster "floating" tremolo bridge with tremolo lock system, tortoise pickguard, 3 way selector switch and Jazzmaster controls. The neck joint dates to 8/61 on this JM. The pots date to the 26th week of 1960. Weight : 8.16 Serial# : 65723
