1964 Gibson SG Standard, Cherry

Product Description

This Gibson SG features an all mahogany body and neck. The neck features a slim 60's profile, a bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard and trapezoid inlays. This guitar also features its original Kluson double ring tuners, black pickguard, CTS pots and original hard shell case. This '64 Cherry SG has seen some common changes over the year but is now set up how it was when it was first manufactured. Most notably, this SG sported a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece for a while but has since been converted back with a new old stock Gibson Lyre tremolo tailpiece. It features a replacement Tonepros bridge though the sale also includes an era correct ABR-1 bridge with the guitar. The Gibson patent sticker humbuckers are era correct as well though they are not original to the guitar. The pickups have not been rewound but they do feature newer leads on them. The pickups are nicely balanced measuring in at 7.18k on the neck and 7.28k on the bridge. This SG weighs in at 7.28 pounds. Serial # 227658
